November Newsletter
Message from the President

Dear Plavan Families,

October was an action-packed month at Plavan! Our Charleston Wrap Fundraiser was a great success, and the creativity and excitement at Trunk or Treat made for a truly memorable evening. We also appreciated the chance to connect during Parent-Teacher Conferences, and the BMX assembly thrilled students with incredible stunts and inspiring messages. A big thank you to all families who participated, volunteered, and helped make these events so special.

As we step into November, we have even more to look forward to! Be sure to mark your calendars for the See's Candy Fundraiser, the Read-a-Thon, and Movie Night. There’s something for everyone to enjoy while supporting our school community.

We are grateful for your continued involvement and support, which makes all of these experiences possible for our students. Here’s to another wonderful month at Plavan!

   With appreciation,

   Becky Obregon
   PTO President

Thank You for Supporting our Teachers!

Charleston Wrap Fundraiser

Thank you to everyone who supported PTO by purchasing items during our Charleston Gift Wrap Fundraiser. We earned $2,833.70! These funds will benefit our students in the form of field trips/transportation, assemblies, and enriching educational programs.

While our fundraiser has ended, you can still place orders to support our school! Please note that any new purchases won’t be included in student prize calculations.

Trunk-or-Treat

Our Trunk or Treat was a spook-tacular success! Families and students enjoyed a festive evening filled with creatively decorated trunks, fun costumes, and plenty of candy. It was wonderful to see our Plavan community come together, laugh, and celebrate safely. A big thank you to everyone who volunteered, decorated, and participated!

Movie Night Chair Needed

🎬 We’re looking for a Movie Night Chair! 🍿

Our PTO is looking for someone to take the lead on our school movie nights!

The Movie Night Chair helps oversee the event — picking the movie (in partnership with our PALS program), submitting the facilities form to the district, and making sure everything runs smoothly the night of the event.

All dates are already set, and our Outdoor Education Committee will be handling food sales. This role is all about coordination and bringing the fun!

If you’re organized, enjoy planning events, or just love a good movie night, we’d love to have you join the team!

Volunteer Opportunities

There are so many ways to get involved and support our school! Volunteering doesn’t always mean big commitments. It can be as simple as calling or emailing local businesses for donations, making copies, or helping with small tasks that make a big difference. We encourage you to check out our website for current volunteer opportunities and see how you can lend a hand. Please remember that all volunteers must be cleared through the front office if they are going to be working on campus.
